Everything is still an allegation... even the salon.com article admits it... grudgingly...

When we look back at the events surrounding the emergence of the faked letter that is at the center of this controversy, a strong circumstantial case certainly can be made in support of Suskind's story.

Very incriminating, very convenient and not very believable. Indeed, it may be hard to imagine that even the CIA at its bumbling worst would concoct such a blatant counterfeit.

Obviously, Allawi's relationship with the CIA is worth reconsidering today in light of the charges in Suskind's book, even though by itself that relationship proves nothing.

So Allawi was at the CIA during the week before Coughlin got that wonderful scoop. That may not be proof of anything, either

If and when these allegations are substantiated I will be the first in line to have the offenders prosecuted as required.  Until that time everyone should view them as allegations that are unproven...

Agreed BridgeTroll.  These are very serious allegations, if true, and should not be tossed around lightly by people.  If there is conclusive evidence (i.e. beyond reasonable doubt), then there should be consequences.  Until such proof is produced however, I remain unpersuaded.

Thanks for the compliment. However, I really don't think you can categorize Riverside's arguments as pretending to believe something that he knows isn't true. He obviously has a good point about the inaccurate intelligence that Bush, among hundreds of other international leaders, thought was legitimate. Please don't bite my head off about that...
