Just wondering how many people are planning on attending the party this Thursday evening at the Landing? I'd like to go, but would hate it if only a handful of people showed up.

I emailed the Landing, and suggested they include Springfield in downtown oriented events such as this. We are the largest population center near downtown, and frankly, we are the ones most likely to use the stores and restaurants down here once everyone goes home to their nice quiet little stucco and styrofoam lives.

My email went unanswered.

I did the same DTParks, also no answer.
Springfield since 1998

That's too bad.  Downtown could be much stronger if we looked at it as being apart of a larger urban core area, instead of an isolated little island whose largest & densest residential structure is the Duval County Jail.

True.

Lake, you saw the turn out at the Block Party on Friday. Clearly we have some spending power here in the community. If only downtown would recognize that.

There was a block party last Friday? Where at?
