I was watching a documentary about the history of pro football in the 60's/70's and a portion of it was spent on Jacksonville's own Bullet Bob Hayes. About how he was the first (and one of the only) track athletes to transition to football. And he is clearly the best to have done this. Now I know he had drug problems for part of his life. So that could explain it. But it seems like for having one of the 20th century's best athletes from our hometown that there is little to show this other than the Bob Hayes track meet. Is there anything else that I am missing named after Hayes? Just curious.
