Agreed...and with the aggressive pursuit of any who drinks at dinner, this is a great way to be safe and DUI free.  More convenient than cabs, cleaner, and easier to deal with.

I know it is shocking but it sounds like our city is not making it easy for Uber to get up and running in Jacksonville.

Here is an article about the tactics the "taxi lobby" in other areas have used to fight Uber.

Please email your city council representative and ask them to support Uber.

A reliable and convenient transportation option in this city is a great thing and should be supported.

Though I use Uber repeatedly while in NYC, not sure there is much demand here in Jax. They want it to add another city to their count, but taxis are plenty and easily accessible here. And even if allowed, not sure the companies here would buy into the software needed.

I just signed the petition.  I would also love to see jitneys and van pools here to expand choices for consumers.
