Hi,

My name is Jim Schoettler, a proud member of the Jacksonville community for 18 years. When Bruce Springsteen played the last show at the old coliseum in '03, I joined a group of locals who staged a great pre-show party in which people from all over the country came, we heard great music, raised $10,000 for the Second Harvest Food Bank and had a great, great time that culminated in many friendships that remain strong today!

Well, Bruce is back (8/15 show at the Arena) and another fabulous Night Before shindig is in the works for 8/14! We're going to have a great time, hear great music, raffle off great items for the Food Bank and make it a true night to remember. Please check out the below Web site for info, links, etc. If you have any questions, just email me at jim.schoettler@jacksonville.com or call me at 904-314-3276.

Hope to see as many of you there as possible. Please spread the word and let us know if you and any significant others are planning to come to the party, either through the thread off the link or by emailing me !

Take care,

Jim (aka) theshot

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Aug. 11, 2008) - This weekend's Bruce Springsteen concert festivities in Jacksonville will fire up on Thursday night with the "Springsteen Sessions," a party at the Gas Knob Pub next to Veterans Memorial Arena. The event will take place from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. and feature local bands playing many of Springsteen's greatest hits and a raffle that will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Florida.

Springsteen memorabilia - including "Boss" concert tickets, artwork, clothing, books and music selections, among other items - will be raffled off at 11 p.m., with all proceeds donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank to aid in its mission of fighting hunger on the First Coast.

Raffle tickets are $5 each or $20 for five tickets and can be purchased on site at the Gas Knob Pub. The party is a free event.

In addition, fans will have an opportunity to help support the Food Bank at Friday's concert, where Second Harvest has been invited to set up a table inside Veterans Memorial Arena and receive donations. Springsteen is a noted advocate of hunger relief and often provides such opportunities to local food banks when holding concerts.

Thanks, metrojacksonville, for providing this space and your support for our event.

I hope as many of you as possible will stop by and support the cause. The Second Harvest Food Bank could always use help. Please bring a non-perishable item and buy those raffle tix early and often. Just remember, you have to be present to win!

Thanks,

Jim (aka the shot)
