Dan Davis says he won’t run for mayor in 2015

State Rep. Daniel Davis said his appointment as JAX Chamber president and CEO, announced Friday, will preclude him from running for mayor in 2015.
Davis has been rumored as a potential Republican contender against Mayor Alvin Brown, a Democrat who will seek his second term in office.

"My No. 1 priority is to grow jobs in Northeast Florida," Davis said after his the Friday news conference. "I am not running for mayor."

Didn't take long for Davis to share his agenda for Jax Chamber.  This is how the GOB's work the system from the inside out.
The first item on the list is....

• He wants to create a Real Estate Council to add to the nine chamber councils that exist to cover geographic areas and specialized interests. Davis is executive director of Northeast Florida Builders Association and said Friday he wants the two organizations to work together.

meh.  defeatist nonsense.

the Chamber isnt as powerful as it used to be, especially downtown.

and the director still has to represent the membership, regardless of his personal agenda.

I sure hope so. But just in case, we should make it hard for him to work that position. Put pressure on him so great that it'll become a major headache for him to continue there. Is it even possible for ordinary noisy citzens to force him out?
