Strange choice of capitalization there, avonjax. I didn't know "rapper" was a proper noun.

Who listens to this crap? It's terrible. Not even music, it's just yelling in slang.

Couldn't agree more, Avonjax and ChrisUFGator.  It perpetuates hatred and anger and it's popular.  It would be like listening to socialist propaganda all the time -remember what Tokyo Rose did to the troops in WW II?  (For those of you not even born yet, Tokyo Rose was the only radio show in Japan, and she would play popular American music and then say stuff to tear down the GI's morale).  Kind of the same thing happening here.  What I want to  know is, (in the vernacular of the 1960's),  WHO is the MAN who is supposedly "keepin' 'em down", now?  He doesn't exist.  They are enjoying the myth too much.  Know what they call it when white folks pump themselves up with anger?  It has three initials.  Is this any less scary on the other side of the fence?  Not for me.

Hi, ChriswUfGator! Let's get your definition of music before we proceed with this conversation.

EDIT: While I wait for Chris,

Could you give me some examples of the kind of hip-hop you're talking about? I'd be happy to provide you with numerous counterexamples of rap that doesn't fit into your narrow, uninformed view.

Plus infinity. Anyone who doesn't like Paul's Boutique (a rap album) cannot be trusted.

Oh, here's a thread topic referring to music that I hate, I have no interest in, and limited knowledge on; So I'm gonna chime in and bash it for the hell of it just to troll. Viola, mission accomplished!!!!

I would love to know what kind of music/artist does these 'rap haters' on here like to listen to; Who knows, some of their stuff I probably would listen to. Too bad some people have to be so close-minded, with the proverbial 'tunnel vision' like only one kind of music exists...

Im not a rap or hip hop fan at all really, so I dont have a problem with it either way. Whatever the case, Rick Ross is main stream and EXTREMELY popular, so for our city to be showcased on a national platform is fine with me, regardless of the genre of music.

For what it's worth, I do like some rap. When I said it's gibberish, I meant Rick Ross. NO shame in that Biggy, 2pac, Dre, Snoop game. I grew out of my rap phase years ago, but some of that stuff is gold. It's the new stuff I can't stand...you know, talking about bling, crack, hoes, cars, etc.

Well now some of Biggy stuff was exactly clean now. But I loved his music also! I think because he was creative and I also loved the beats to his song.

I actually like the beats to some of Rick Ross' songs.  However, I listen to just about everything. It just depends on the mood I'm in.
