Another hit for the Landing.

QuoteBody Central, one of the last few original tenants of the Jacksonville Landing, is closing its store there.
Tom Stoltz, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, said the location just doesn’t fit where the women’s clothing chain is going.

I wonder how the contract for the incentives was worded.  Where does the money for the extra jobs go now?

Thats kind of sad. I used to shop there a lot back in my late teens, early twenties. I'm going to hate seeing it go. So many memories...Oh! Well. Another loss for Jacksonville Landing. >:(

The inside of the Landing is a very depressing place

Which is why it needs reconfigured & to stop trying to be a mini mall. That entire part needs hollowed out & opened up to the street. As it is, it has people from the street having to walk through a busted ass "mall of death" to get to the water/entertainment part of the complex (why people actually go there). Thats stupid. Yes, I know you can walk around it through parking lots & whatnot, but no one does, and they shouldn't have to.

No one goes downtown for retail & they'll never be able to compete with all the other shopping centers & malls, so don't try. Retail in general is on the downward slope anyway.
