Today, Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America.  It is a proud moment for our Nation. We have shown the world once again that despite opposing political views and agenda's we as a country will duly elect a President without bloodshed or riots in the streets because that is how people in America do things.  It is what makes us the great country that we are.

Historically, the day also marked the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King who had lived a life passionate in words and actions based in the hope of equality and freedom for all people.  I know he would have been proud of how far we have come as a people while being mindful of how far we have yet to go.  It is my prayer and hope that those we have voted into positions of leadership will act with balance, fairness and valid concern for the needs of our nation regardless of political party or agenda.  We are one people and we share a single future.  Let's make it a good one.
