well I'm glad those issues have come to the top....means we should be able to have some really meaningful discussion

^For sure. It's not surprising but it's nice to see that these are the major concerns of such a broad sample of the metro population. Time to get it done.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Out of curiosity, is the Mayor and City Council reps going to be at these group meetings?

fsujax

^^good question. I am sure the Mayor will show with his camera person.

thelakelander

The Mayor will be there.  He is a member of the JAX 2025 Steering Committee.

The Mayor is the honorary chair of Jax2025...he will be speaking tomorrow morning...and he's actually been pretty engaged in the process to date.

Yeah, it just seems like these things would be a waste of time if the 'decision makers' aren't involved.

thelakelander

I'm sure there will be some there tomorrow.  They are expecting over 2,000 to attend.

The headline of the TU article says "transportation" not "transit".  I'm curious to know if the survey responders were expressing frustration with our road system or our public transit system.  The article didn't specify either.

People like to complain about the roads, however, I feel that we have one of the best (probably overbuilt) road networks of any city I've visited.

Our transit system on the other hand is non-functional for all except those who have no other options.

^ The question asked on the survey was to transportation as a whole....but I can assure you that many respondents drilled down further in comments....I'm sure transit will come to light as a major issue in the coming meetings

5 hours out. Anyone going? There was a red dot green dot exercise that was done at the 1/16/13 DIA/CRA Plan Committee meeting. Encourage everyone to participate.
