In this corner: The brothers who are asking for an appeal of the HPC's denial for demolition

In this corner:  The city who is requesting landmark status for the Bostwick building against the wishes of the brothers.

It will all come down to property rights vs protection for historic properties.

This is THE preservation battle of the decade.

The city's experts in historic preservation, Joel McEachin & his staff, have determined through exhaustive research that this building is a significant and important piece of Jacksonville's history. 

The LUZ committee will have to decide if it values Jacksonville's historic structures.

If it does, it will do as its own historic planners request:  Save a landmark.

If it does not, it sends a loud message condoning the practice of allowing Jacksonville's decaying treasures to blight until they are demolished by neglect.

Do the right thing, LUZ.

The Bostwick building is an icon. Hopefully LUZ does the right thing.
