This isn't new, but I did not realize it. I am generally pretty good about recycling, but just assumed they did not accept cartons. Apparently, they do, of all shapes and sizes:
QuotePaperboard cartons and boxes (including milk, juice, broth, soup and other food and drink containers).

Also as a friendly remind, they take Styrofoam and all plastics 1-7, including plastic bags.

Thanks PJS... I think the carton piece is fairly new...

QuoteSingle-family residents can recycle all of these items curbside in their *blue bin:
•Plastic food containers, beverage containers, detergent bottles, cleaning containers, all plastics that are labeled 1 - 7  Labels do not need to be removed. Plastic bags are accepted.
•Styrofoam: Plastic Category #6 (Large styrofoam items need to be broken up and placed inside the blue bins.)
•Glass bottles and jars; please place tops/lids in garbage; labels do not need to be removed)
•Newspapers and inserts, craft paper, paper towel cores (on rainy days, please hold until next collection day)
•Magazines, catalogs, paperback books & telephone books
•Shredded paper must be bagged
•Brown paper bags (can also be used to hold excess recyclables)
•Corrugated cardboard (flattened and cut in pieces 2' by 3' or smaller)
•Metal and aluminum cans, empty areosol cans, aluminum baking tins
•Steel Food containers
•Paperboard cartons and boxes (including milk, juice, broth, soup and other food and drink containers).
*Note: Blue plastic bins are provided to new residential property owners (apartment/condo dwellers please contact your property management company for recycling options), and available to new program participants.  If you do not have blue plastic bins residents can use paper bags or other comparably sized plastic bins for their recyclables. The bins can be any color. The city issued blue bins are 18 gallon containers measuring at 15" wide by 22" long and 15" deep. Except for Republic /Southland Waste Services  (SWS) customers, no "tall' recycle bins can be used since the collection employee has to separate material prior to it being put in the truck. You may check  online  to verify if  SWS is your service area.

Please call 630-CITY (2489) for assistance with your collection schedules.
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Thanks for the info! I was also under the impression that they didn't recycle cartons.
