PACKED house in here.  Mayor is being photographed at this very moment.

Virtually every City Dept is represented.

Fever pitch in the room.

Mayor is up:

"Humbled and honored to be here"

"Some of the smartest, dedicated visionary leaders on this board"

Mentioning IBM Study coming soon to identify low hanging fruits.

He will do everything he can to work together, protect taxpayers dollars, invest in the future... downtown will be thriving very soon

Carla Miller is up and is beginning to speak to incoming board members on ethics.  She will be doing a brief ethics training.

Virtually everyone is wearing a suit in the room.  Even Chris Flagg.  Tony Allegretti is suited up with his traditional non-tie ensemble.

Having been to more ethics training courses than I can even count, I can assure you public sector ethics training is just as riveting as private sector ethics training.

We are in the Don Davis Room in City Hall (btw, this building is turning 100 years old this month).  Attendees are literally spilling over into the hallway.  Jack Shad and myself went around arbitraging chairs from around the St James Bldg.  We stuck as many chairs as could possibly fit in here, and it is still standing room only.

It's so full in here, I thought they must have been offering free draft beers.

I'm looking around intently.... nope, no free beer.

Paul Perez also subscribes to the same fashion magazines as Allegretti... he is also sans tie.

I feel underdressed but I have fieldafm beat. He's wearing jeans. In the crowd, Councilman Love, Councilwoman Boyer, Jack Meeks, Doug Skiles and LaCena's favorite owner is here. Lots of media as well. Max Marbut from the Jax Daily Record, Ron Littlepage and Tim Gibbons from the Times-Union too. Noone just walked into the room as well.

Lots of media presence here.  Myself and Ashley Kritzer of the Biz Journal are the only people using Apple products to record notes of the meeting.  Ashely and myself are of the same age range incidently.

All of the other media types are still using pen and paper.

Carla Miller mentioned that DIA board members are subject to State financial disclosure laws.
So, in the next two months you'll be finding out the net worth of DIA board members.

I'm betting Rob Clements is going to top that list.

Four board members are wearing eye glasses.  Oliver Barakat takes the eyewear fashion award IMO.

This is like the Matrix. The Ethics training program has been installed into the DIA's brain. On to Legal.

We're now going over Sunshine Laws.

These live blogs are becoming insanely popular.

I am spotting about a half dozen people in the room following along.

Lori Boyer has walked out, presumably to throw water in her eyes to keep from falling asleep.

Jim Bailey has mastered the art of sleeping with his eyes open.

'Regardless of physical form, anything that involves public business is public record'

Guess that includes text messaging... much to the City's chagrin.

Lori Boyer is back.  An empty can of Red Bull rolled behind her as she re-entered the room.
