Frog Versus Toad For your inner Hipster

At least it is on a station I don't listen to. The decision by 1010XL to replace SFR with these has-been's was a disaster.

I actually really like 94.1- having them take up the mornings means I won't be listening as much. Back in their earlier days, they were still crass and trashy but some of it was still really funny. It just started getting so boring and repetitive. I think they really lost their audience here when they moved to Dallas. They were the local guys and people really stood behind them- the move hit a lot of their long-time listeners like a slap in the face. Jacksonville is what made them and all of a sudden we're second (and sometimes third) fiddle.

Are any shockjocks really relevant anymore? Greaseman was unlistenable. Bubba and Opie & Anthony were so mean spirited, I don't know how anyone could enjoy it. The only thing Howard Stern has that is interesting are his celebrity interviews. More and more people just listen to their ipods in the car now. Why listen to some morning show with 5% of content that I'm interested in when I can plug in my ipod and hear the music I like as well as podcasts that are catered to what I want to hear.

89.9 errday... I hardly remember who any of these a-holes are. I remember Lex and Terry being moderately amusing. Bubba being a complete pulsating dill-hole fixated on Hulk Hogan, and I don't even know who Opie and Anthony are. I'd rather have my morning news to quell the rage seething inside of me induced by the I-10/I-95 merger.

Interesting.

My fav used to be The Greaseman on WAPE AM when it was still alive and well as the mighty 690.   He was raunchy but hilarious.

What ever happened to Mike and Mike?

I would like to chime in to say that Lex and Terry are remarkably talented, and a worthwhile listen, whatever the market.

Since I attempt to be reasonably honest, I can't. I'd like to, but...

.... I gues I'm the only one daring enough to listen and actually admit that I love having them back for my morning commute.

It beats the hell out of the same 'ol regurgitated playlists on every single radio station or the steril political left-wing/right-wing talk radio shows...

L&T are not Emmy winning broadcasters by any means, but are a light and funny get away on my commute every day.
