LPS Default Solutions moving 270 jobs from Riverside Avenue to Flagler Center

LPS Default Solutions Inc., part of Jacksonville-based Lender Processing Services, will move more than 270 employees from Riverside to Flagler Center in South Jacksonville.

Michelle Kersch, senior vice president of corporate communications and marketing for Lender Processing Services, said employees will make the move Nov. 1 from the LPS campus at 601 Riverside Ave.

Flagler Center is the office park near Bartram Park, heading towards Daytona Beach.

The "15 minutes to downtown" is a bit generous.

It's I-95 most of the way, which helps. I've never gone from work to the beach before, so I don't know how off the estimated time for that is!

I just drove it today from downtown, it took me almost 25 minutes going the speed limit. I find it interesting they list the travel to Downtown, why would they care? it's these type of developments that have just about choked the life out of downtown.

^^^Good point.  Everything is always about "how close to downtown" they are (or the airport), yet I thought downtown was no longer relevant (or so the people folk think).

Space is definitely one issue with all the Fidelity companies. A while back they moved a whole group across the street in the BC/BS building. Could be other factors in play as well though.

That reminds me of this Detroit documentary I watched (I think it was Requiem For Detroit on BBC). They were interviewing this old couple who used to live in the city, surrounded by wonderful theaters & all of these vibrant things to do. Anyways, they were part of that whole white flight movement that left for the suburbs long ago. She started talking about how every so often when they'd take the scenic route & drive through town (to get to the other suburb across town they were going to) & her old urban neighborhood kept looking worse & worse until eventually it was a slum, and that made her "sad".

Well, no fucking shit, lady! I wonder what ever could have happened??
