The next Jax Cash Mob will take place in Springfield Saturday August 4th.

Meet at City Kidz ice cream at 11AM.  We'll reveal the location of the store to be mobbed.  Each participant is asked to spend $10-20 at the store as a way to show your support for locally-owned small businesses.  Afterwards (the 'mob' usually lasts an hour) we'll reconvene back at City Kidz for lunch and socializing.  We ask that you try to meet three new people at the Cash Mob.

This is going to be the start of something big in Springfield, I would encourage you to come out and be a part of the fun!

The next Jax Cash Mob is in Springfield this Saturday.  Check out the video above, see how much fun you can have by making a positive impact in the community!  Let's get 100 people out this weekend!!

Invite your friends.  We'll meet at City Kidz Ice Cream 1303 N Main St at 11AM.  From there, we'll mob a local business (great theme this time, your money can go to something really meaningful), we ask you to spend $10 or more at the business... and then we'll reconvene back at City Kidz for lunch, socializing and ice cream (no better way to cool off than some Viva Vanilla ice cream, whose proceeds go to fund financial literacy education locally).

Jax Cash Mob is in Springfield this weekend.  81 people descended on San Marco a month ago.  Will 100 people come to Springfield?!?  Let's make it happen, invite a friend and meet us at City Kidz Ice Cream on the corner of 3rd and Main Saturday at 11AM.

The theme of this cash mob will be something REALLY cool.  Make this city YOUR business.

Go to the Facebook page www.facebook.com/JaxCashMob.  If you share the Springfield event page on your own personal page, one lucky person will win a $15 gift certificate to Sweet Petes!!!

How fun!!

We began at City Kidz, (home of the world famous "viva vanilla" ice cream) where our host announced the business we were to mob -- OLD TIME HARDWARE!  And then he announced that folks could buy supplies for Preservation SOS (hooray), he gave them a list, and they did, I'm telling ya!

This morning I woke up all stressed because we have many lots that need to be mowed and our two weed whackers are broken.   I called Nicole and of course her weed whacker is also broken.  (In all fairness to weed whackers, we expect the impossible from them, whacking lots that ought to have a bush hog mowing in the least).

At the event, Mike handed me a check for $250 to Old Time for Preservation SOS from One to One Credit Union.

Providence stepped in and they had a newly refurbished weed whacker available for sale ($89).  I handed them the $250 check.  I also made arrangements to bring in all of the broken weed whackers to be fixed.

I don't think I'll have to worry about equipment needed to whack weeds for a year.  If the whackers break, we have money on account at Old Time to fix them.

Immediately we cut the grass of the house on Pearl.

Now it looks so nice

Thank you fieldafam for your cash mobs and thank you to all who helped us with these supplies

and for giving Brent at Old Time Hardware the BEST day he's ever had!

It was my first Cash Mob - and it was fun.  Also happy to be able to contribute to SOS.

It was my first Cash Mob as well. Had a great time. Shopping local in Springfield. I'll be back. Congratulations to all that are Making It Happen.

Had a really great time in Springfield Saturday.  79 people came out.  We 'mobbed' Olde Time Hardware and had lunch afterwards at City Kidz.

There is a theme to every cash mob.  This month's theme was 'Rebuilding Community'.

We asked those that perhaps didn't necessarily have any hardware needs to consider donating some items to Preservation SOS.  121 Credit Union graciously donated $250 in supplies to Preservation SOS and as Sheclown mentioned, SOS put the items donated to work immediately after leaving the cash mob.

Gloria and Nicole are really inspiring people and Jacksonville is lucky to have them.

As an appreciation to those that showed support for the Jax Cash Mob, if you go to City Kidz today Jax Cash Mob participants will receive a free drink and a free scoop of ice cream if they mention 'cash mob'.

Pastor Bush has the grill out today and is serving up 12oz. homemade turkey burgers and black angus steakburgers(his mom's recipe and something I can personally attest to being very tasty), boneless chicken breast on s stick and shrimp on a stick.  Each grilled item includes a side of string beans, baked beans, our seafood pasta salad.

So, if you are in Springfield or Downtown today.... head over to City Kidz, support a local business and thank them for what they do for the community.
