KG, Be concerned. My hat is off to the UC CPAC for the resolution.
Its the administration that needs to wake up. Still seeking other resolutions.
Our Regional Partners will be in shock.
Heard on the news that someone was arrested, accused, embezzeled, padded, for Downtown stuff. Have been looking in the paper, on the news, has any MJ'er heard about this? Something around $2,000,000 I just caught something on the radio but have yet to hear any kind of follow up. Anyone?
This is HUGE because you have the city reorg pending before the city council 2012-212 and 2012-213 and we should all have concerns about a complete and total Govt. takeover without any oversite.
Have some awesome pictures that I can't wait to share with the UC CPAC Monday.
The UC CPAC is Making It Happen.

Lets hope we can say.

"We are all Downtown."

5 hours out. Be concerned as Public Access and Economic opportunity is perceived and what will actually will be allowed within a new AUTHORITY DOWNTOWN as it relates to our St. Johns River our American Heritage River a Federal Initiative.

I am Downtown and why you aren't. Who wants to kayak and fish this week under the brand new no fishing signs not before Waterways? I Khan Make It Happen.

FIND is Good.
Jacksonville is Lost.

The state as well as our Regional Partners are watching.

Thank you again to the Urban Core CPAC for a resolution of Support for our River.

The June 4, 2012 Urban Core CPAC meeting had our Mayor, Alvin Brown sharing with everyone his vision for Jacksonville and taking Q&A from the audience. The chair of the UC CPAC Chris Parrish did an excellent job throughout the entire meeting and the combination of the two made for a very relaxed and informed meeting.

Mayor Brown and his enthusiasm and passion for this city to make Downtown a Destination and not a pass through is catching when explaining how he wants to do it. Public, Private, Partnership was another repeated answer how this will be needed to take Jacksonville to the next level.

Mayor Brown touched on issues that are an immediate concern and what is moving forward.
Unemployment is currently at 8.4% and 37,000 people in Jacksonville are looking for work.
The Mayor's mentoring program is doing well. He touched on Jacksonville's military presence and the steps that he has done to elevate this important part of the 14.2 billion dollar impact that the military brings in a Regional Impact. He also talked about our parks and how city depts. are meeting at the parks (Put me on that list). Mayor Brown also talked about the river and that fired me up.

The highlight for me was wearing my Mayor Alvin Brown's Kayak Adventures t-shirt and during Q&A being able to thank Mayor Brown again for his kayak initiative and asking him not a question but a request to be my sponsor as we continue to make Downtown a Destination and not a pass through. I mentioned to Mayor Brown that I have been attending FIND (Florida Inland Navigation District) meetings for 4 years and was still seeking a sponsor that I could take back to the commissioners of FIND for a small project.

I asked Mayor Brown if I could work with anyone on his team and then report back to him. I through out some names. Jody McDaniel, Kelley Boree, David DeCamp, Chris Parrish, Don Shea, I know there are some others that I missed. Tera Meeks, David Hunt, Greg Radlinski, Chris Hand, Pam Roman. Pam was right there at the meeting and I apologize for over looking you and Dave Roman there are others as well but the bottom line is I want to join Mayor Brown in making Downtown a Destination and to show an immediate Activity that can happen on our River.

The next meeting of the commissioners of FIND is June 16 in Brevard county and I don't plan on attending. I do plan on attending the July meeting of the Commissioners of FIND and I can't wait to share with them what Mayor Brown wants to see happen.

Unfortunately Jacksonville LOST over $500,000 of FIND money on the table in its 2012 grant application.

Mayor Brown said "Lets get to Work." I agree.

Have not had a call or email from Lisa with the administration. You want to move this community forward and tell everyone there is opportunity but why are you closing the door.

which Lisa are you referring to? as you stated above, Lisa Rinaman is now the Riverkeeper, which is an independent organization.

Jacksonville Waterways Commission meeting at 9:30 in council chambers. I still have not heard back from our St. Johns Riverkeeper.

Have heard back from the administration.
