Mayoral spokeswoman Susie Wiles announced Friday that she’s leaving Jacksonville City Hall.
Wiles, who’s been with Mayor John Peyton for more than five years, couldn’t be reached immediately to find out details about her departure.

she was always kind of icky.  i don't think we've seen the last of her yet.

"Professionally ... we'll see, but I plan to remain in the 'Peyton family' and I think you'll see me around again after the summer," Wiles said in an e-mail to friends and colleagues.

and here are a couple "oldies, but goodies"...

In 2003, John Peyton was running for mayor. Mike Tolbert was his chief strategist. Road contractor John Coxwell was a big fund-raiser for Peyton.

The campaign turned bitter at times. When Peyton was attacked, Tolbert fired back.

Much of that ammunition was aimed at Susie Wiles and Adam Hollingsworth, two strategists for one of Peyton's top rivals, Mike Weinstein.

The perception in the Peyton camp was that Wiles and Hollingsworth were the source of nasty things being said about Peyton.

When asked by a T-U reporter (in another story) about whether she (Wiles) had started the rumors about Peyton being gay, she said something to the effect of "well, there were a lot of things being said during the campaign".  To my recollection - I've searched the T-U archives as well - I don't remember her ever denying that. 

BUT...all that is in the past now and she is in the Peyton family.   

I think this is a good thing.

Interesting that Adam Hollingsworth is currently Peytons Chief of Staff.
