Here is a clay county location going up.

I wonder why 7-Eleven isn't rushing to places where the Mobility Fee Moratorium Local insider give away is taking place. Any ideas from our City Council Judases?

Not sure if this is the right thread (so many 7-11 threads lately), or, if this "news" has already been reported, but went to Gus Shoe Repair this morning, and he said 7-11 isn't trying to take Magnificat's location anymore.

The 7-11 downtown is underway.  Drove by it yesterday and they are doing site preparation .

Great. Sad but true, I am thrilled to see anything built in our downtown. After so much demolition its nice to see an addition, regardless of what type it is. Another empty lot filled

I agree.  add to, not take away from Downtown.  Perhaps the owners of the Blighted Shell Station across the Street will follow suit and perk their establishment .

Sometimes when something positive takes place in an area, the surrounding areas follow suit.  One can hope.   Even a fresh coat of paint  would be a good thing.  But you're right Duval .. its pretty sad like it presently is.

It will be nice to have a convenient spot to grab milk or bread. Or perhaps pump gas in a location that properly lights the pumps at night.

That said, I do hope the company enforces a strict "No Loitering" policy. As someone who drives down Main Street every day multiple times, I can testify that the existing gas station across from the First Baptist garage is an unnerving stretch of road to wheel through. Loiterers camp out on the sidewalk on both sides of the street and will walk in front of a car without a second thought. They also have no problem panhandling a driver trying to pump gas or, as I witnessed Tuesday morning, conducting a little transaction within 10 yards of the gas pumps.

The owners of that station don't care.  I have actually gone in and asked them to enforce their rules (I've escorted females up there on more than one occassion who were too scared to get out of their cars), and all they do is shrug it off.

I've never stopped at that gas station and NOT been asked for money by a panhandler.  It doesn't bother me, but it certainly bothers most potential customers.  Especially when you see drugs being dealt on the fenceline behind the buidling but still in plain site of the pumps(and the registers which are right behind the area in question).

Its a damn shame that a coming to our downtown is big news. That alone should  tell you how lame our downtown is and how its council leaders are so behind a visitor i have from  Seattle that says even as far as she is this city is laughed upon for its conservative leadership...actually she said they say we get what we deserve for allowing conservative biblethumpers to rule this town...welcome to jax everyone.

Hey, lay off the 7/11 jokes, it should be said that one of the winning lottery tickets for the 640 million dollars was sold at a Maryland 7/11.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."
-Mayor Alvin Brown on new video boards at Everbank Field

7-11 is now open at Julia and Forsyth St. Does anyone find it ironic that Gate has no stations or convenience stores anywhere downtown?
