Allow myself to introduce...myself.

BNewton

Hello!  My name is Braxton Newton.  I am a Jacksonville native, going on my 32 year in this town.  I am the owner of a small company, Pier Point Property Services, Inc. where our current focus is residential and commercial landscape maintenance and design.  I am married, we have a soon to be 3 year old daughter and we reside in Murray Hill.  I, like so many others, have ventured outside the greater Jacksonville area to visit other cities across this great country.  I have seen and experienced cities that are thriving, bustling with activity and culture.  Once you experience that and you come home and look around, you realize the potential this city has.  At the same you realize how far off the mark Jacksonville is.  Having grown up here, I am starting to see a shift in mindset.  I'm seeing a movement beginning to take place.  Where the old, traditional way of thinking, the "preserve the small town feel of Jacksonville" is starting to be challenged by a more progressive way of thinking.  Let's get past the mindset of, "it's the way we've always done it.", to, "how can we do it better?", "let's try this, whatever, again but this time let's use common sense."  I have decided to become active in this forum community to broaden my view point, to open my mind and to see if I can in some way, at some point, contribute to the rebirth of this city.

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Yeah welcome.  I have learned so much on here.  Great place to vent sometimes too.

Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Hey Braxton, nice to see you again - long time since Busch Gardens in '93.  Your old pal Billy is about to be a first time dad - in about a half hour.

Welcome to the group, and please tell your dad I said hello.
