Any one see the report on channel 4 about all the health code violations that Domo racked up on one visit?

Ate there once... spectacularly unimpressed. :'(
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Really want this place to succeed....

But yeah, it has it's faults.

When I asked for a crepe with 'butter and sugar', you know, typical French style, they looked at me like I had six eyes and proclaimed "But we don't have that on the menu!"

A friend told me they closed already. Can anyone confirm? They did such a nice job with the interior, hopefully something else can go in there right away.

They did a great job with the interior, but couldn't run a restaurant for the life of them. Service was terrrrrible, and the products weren't anything you'd wanna go back for more than once every 2 or 3 months.

I'll walk by today and see what's going on.

Man, I had not even heard of this place.

The Compound

yeah I only went once soon after it opened and after the horrible service, I pretty much forgot about it.

The food wasn't anything to write home about either...I mean, it's a crepe place, and they don't even have a crepe with butter and sugar.

Went once... definite service issues...

Great concept poor execution.  I went maybe four times and they wanted to be good and just didn't know how.  Love the interior probably needed to hire an experienced restaurant manager.  Too bad the place had real potential.

After just six months in operation, Domo Crepes Etc. has closed in Riverside's Five Points area.

The restaurant, which opened in September in a former Subway location, failed to attract enough customers to its unique crepe concept to stay open, according to a sign posted on the restaurant’s door at 813 Lomax St.

The sign read, in part:

“Although we expected the location to support our plans for growth, sales did not rise fast enough. The owners of Domo are most appreciative of our loyal regular customers, and from the comment cards, we are encouraged to know our unique menu was enjoyed by so many.”

A Times-Union food critic said as much in a December restaurant review:

“I can tell you that they are delicious, with crispy edges and just enough weight and thickness to harness the fillings. I opted for the Chicken Florentine Crepe ($8.49) and was very pleased with the whole wheat crepe that came folded around grilled chicken, fresh spinach, mushrooms, ricotta and mozzarella cheese. The chef understood that less is more when it comes to crepes and didn’t overload the dish, but kept it simple with a drizzle of demi-glace across the top and fresh greens on the side.”

Located on a side street off the main Five Points strip, Domo was hard to find for those just driving through the historic neighborhood.

And in its message to its loyal customers, Domo left the door open to opening its doors again â€" in a new spot.

“Next, we will be working to find a new location which will provide better visibility and more seats so we can balance sales and expenses. Stay tuned, check the news and we look forward to serving you again.”
