^That would be great.  However, COJ would have to officially be on board and modify policy to allow it to happen.

Additionally, we are going to have bins out to collect canned goods.  For those attending, please consider bringing a few canned goods(or a few extra dollars) the day of the event that will go directly to Second Harvest of North Florida.

A few facts:
*More than 342,000 individuals in the Second Harvest service area are deemed to be “food insecure” â€" which means they might not be hungry, but they also don’t know when they will eat again. Of that total, more than 117,000 are children.

*The fastest-growing population in this food-insecure group is the working poor â€" households that have working members but can’t make ends meet, often times forced to substitute other bills and expenses for money that would have been used to buy food.

*In the 18-county area served by Second Harvest North Florida, 136,269 people are in this class of working poor with no access to federal or state benefits and often limited means to buy food (SNAP, WIC, Free lunch at school).

Congratulations to Jax Truckies participant BBQ Jax.  Last night they won Action News' Clean Plate Award and received a visit from the always stunning Tera Barz.

QuoteJacksonville, Fla. - We are doing something a little different on the restaurant report this week. We are taking you inside BBQ Jax - one of our clean plate award winners of the week.

Bill Skipper loves Jacksonville, he loves BBQ and he loves a clean kitchen. He is the proud owner of a mobile catering kitchen and loves serving food on the go at events all around Northeast Florida.

Bill says if you clean as you go - you'll never have a problem.  He is former military and is very serious about being clean. He is also serious about his dry rub recipe which is a secret that no one knows - except for his business parter who also happens to be his wife.

Bill's favorite item on his catering menu is the pulled pork sandwich. He says he only serves it fresh and hot, "I don't usually pull the pork until it's time to serve the customer."

We asked, "What's the difference between your kitchen and a kitchen at a restaurant." Bill says, "There's no difference. We have the same standards and we are inspected by the same people."

The inspector found zero violations insideBBQ Jax. Here

A few notes to those attending:

1-Please be patient.  We have limited attendance specifically to avoid queue time problems other food truck festivals have faced in other cities, but there will still be some long lines at times.  All of the food trucks want to serve you good food as quick as possible, so while waiting for food you are welcome to strike up great conversation with fellow foodies while enjoying Bold City's fine local brews.

2-Some proceeds from the event are helping Second Harvest feed our city.  We will have donation bins for canned food donations on hand, donation buckets if you would like to give a few dollars to Second Harvest and will be selling 'I Love Jax Food Trucks' buttons for $1 that will go directly towards Second Harvest.  1 in 4 children are underfed in our city.  Second Harvest helps feed them.

3-PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be respectful of our neighbors and do not park in anyone's yard or block any streets.

4-VIP starts at 11AM and regular admission starts at noon.

5-Have fun and let your city councilperson know of your support for this industry in your town.  This is YOUR city, make it worth living in!

If you didn't give free tickets to your city council person, do a face slap on yourself!  Missed opportunity!

Thank you to Field, other MJ reps, bold city and the food vendors for a great time.  Despite the rain, there was a strong showing.

This evidences the popularity of the food trucks and metrojacksonville.
