I-10/I-95 interchange project on fast track





Work on interstates may be done before scheduled 2011 end date.

Attention is crucial when approaching where Jacksonville's two major interstates meet.

Lanes shift unexpectedly or an old exit is closed while a new exit ramp is open. Not to mention how easily someone going north or south could find themselves going east and west with just a few lane shifts.

This is life around Interstate 95 and Interstate 10 - at least until a $150 million project that began in February 2005 is complete. It will increase the capacity of the interchange while eliminating most of the cross-lane maneuvers drivers must use.

That interchange has been a major problem for years.  I'm glad to see this thing moving along as fast as I95/I295 and the 9A/JTB interchanges.

Great news, this should be just in time for them to take out the Southside bridges and interchanges from Beach/Atlantic to Baptist!

Let's hope they at least include a way to access the garage Northbound or Southbound from I-95 to Atlantic. A direct exit for the "Skyway" would be a REAL transportation planners dream. Lets also get the darn SKYWAY up and over the freeway and headed toward Atlantic/San Marco. In the same rebuild we "COULD" get a single highway under the FEC tracks too. I'd like to see the "GARY STREET BUSWAY" added
