^Pointed criticism is not frowned upon, especially when it is tempered with the supportive attitude of a real fan. On the other hand a long pattern of griping negativity just makes one particularly unpleasant to be have a discussion with, and others tend to respond accordingly.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

So I guess all this board wants is all people with the same opinion. I didn't realize critcism of the Jaguars was frowned upon.

"Apparently, being critical of the Jaguars and their lack of FULL CONSISTENCY is frowned upon in this thread!"
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

And so what he's a christian football player? I'm sure he not the only one out there that is one. (and I'm a christian btw)

I share that frustration.  At the time of the '10 draft, I saw many complaints that we didn't draft a good Christian man in Tebow (along with spectacularly misinformed references to how he could have cleaned up the "Thuguars").  But there are many Christian players on the Jaguars, including the player we did take in the first round of the 2010 draft, Tyson Alualu.  Many of them are overt about their faith, dedicated to churches and charities, set a good example in the community, and so forth.  And if the specific hang-up was that we didn't draft a Christian athlete from Jacksonville specifically, we already had one in Rashean Mathis.

Of course, now some of them have shifted the narrative away from "Thuguars" to "Gene Smith drafts too many good character guys and you can't win with choir boys."

Case in point - just saw this message board comment on the Tebow/Plummer situation:

"I would be a pretty proud parent to have my son grow up like Tim Tebow. Not a Broncos fan at all, but when he plays its something different and his jersey is one of the few from the league I would let my little boy wear."

The implication being, of course, that other players lack Tebow's moral values or faith.  There are many players with admirable moral values and/or deep faith and/or strong charitable convictions.  Just on the Jaguars, Tyson Alualu, Rashean Mathis, Derek Cox, Daryl Smith, Aaron Kampman, Jeremy Mincey, Montell Owens, Eugene Monroe, Russell Allen, Rashad Jennings, Brad Meester all come to mind immediately.

One of the few...not the ONLY one.

For all we really know those you listed could be some of the others.

^ Possible, but I would doubt it because the poster also claimed to be a casual fan (and wasn't local).  I don't mean to reflect bitterness at Tebow in any way by saying this, but I wish some of the other players who are doing great things in their communities would get proportionate coverage to his.  I think there's a widespread media-fueled perception that very few players are not living the lifestyles of, well, players.
