QuoteTERRIFIC TEBOW
What the Jags missed
I stayed up to watch Tim Tebow perform football miracles Thursday night.
Jacksonville Jaguars management could have had our stadium full as well as having the entire nation anxious to watch our games on TV.
General Manager Gene Smith and the rest of the Jaguars brainstormers who passed up on No. 15 might want to submit their resumes to State College, Pa.
Michael Switkes, Jacksonville

I really don't understand these Tebow worshipers in this city. The Jag's missed? On what a QB that can not complete a pass so he runs for his life? Even Gabbert and our terrible receiver core can me some plays. Nothing impresses me about a NFL QB who constantly runs when they feel pressure. Actually watching him play made me happy that we didn't draft him. It also makes me appreciate what Gabbert is doing inspite of our WR's not being so great. Gabbert makes plays and stays in the pocket as much as possible, and only runs if necessary.I'm not hating on Tebow, but people really need to stop worshiping him. And so what he's a christian football player? I'm sure he not the only one out there that is one. (and I'm a christian btw)

Just lookin' at the Broncos schedule, I got them losing four straight (at SD, at MIN, CHI, NE) then at BUF I'm not sure(should be a close game) than winning at home vs KC in the finale; They will most likely finish up no better than 7-9.

I'll own up to what I said, and eat a lil' crow. I don't wanna be one of these guys who makes a statement, and don't own up to it, as the Broncs are pretty much a lock to go to the playoffs; I don't know how in the hell the Broncos manage to win these games lately but they do; I guess it's a combo of the Broncs playing great defense, special teams, and a lil' Tebow magic in the fourth quarter; Either way you look at it, it's a great story for the Nat'l media. I still think that the Jags made the right choice by not picking him in the first round, but only time will tell.

Note to NFL teams facing Tebow the rest of the way....Don't blitz and play zone coverage; Keep him inside the pocket, and let Tebow beat you with his arm.

Or just go to Amazon buy the book, 'Paul Johnson's Offensive Playcalling for Dummies' and have your defense study up.
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Next year when the Broncos are 4-12, and Gabbert takes the Jags to the playoffs, the Tebow worshippers will be silenced. Those idiots (like Michael Switkes, Dan Hicken etc) are desperately looking for that 'I told you so' moment. Next year, all you will hear is crickets from the Tebow bandwagon.  Note to NFL teams facing Tebow the rest of the way....Don't blitz and play zone coverage; Keep him inside the pocket, and let Tebow beat you with his arm.

Exactly! blitz does not work for Tebow. Im kept yelling at the TV "stop blitzing him!!" You have to force him to stay in the pocket and make a throw

I am a casual observer on this whole issue. But my take is this:
If a guy keeps winning all the other stuff doesn't matter.
Time will tell of course. But what has happened recently is leading
me to conclude Tebow's 'will to win' is something that can't be quantified or scouted.
We shall see.
Like him or not this is good for the NFL and Denver as it has created interest. They must be loving it.

^^^I don't disagree with anything that you said. One thing about Tebow, that guy is a competitor. No doubt that the Broncos are a very compelling team esp. since they consistently run very unique college plays in the NFL. Unfortunately for the Broncos, this is just putting a band-aid on a gaping wound. Eventually opponents' defenses will figure out how to defend those college plays, and Tebow will hafta use his arm. A coupla years ago, the Miami Dolphins had a successful fad with introducing the wildcat, which they had ran consistently with effectiveness in the NFL; Notice how that had died out very quickly as people figured it out; I see no difference here. BTW, I'm now rooting against the second coming, only because of the idiot Tebow fans who always has an ax to grind with the Jags for not taking him; I tried hard to wish him the best, but those worshipping idiots makes it impossible.

I love some of the comments from Jags "fans" and season ticket holders saying they dumped the team because they didn't pick Tebow. Seriously, you dump for one guy, shows your dedication right there.

Good riddance. Those "fans" can go right back to fawning over a bunch of 20 year old kids at a college they never went to.

Cant blame those for Jags fans for having common sense. With zero players left on the team from the 08 draft, the last thing the Jag Org. needed was another huge mistake and Tebow in the first round and as a QB is a huge mistake. Denver will find that out the hard way. I wouldn't mind having Tebow on the Jags, but not as a QB. Its the Tebow worshipers who are the dumb ones.

Right! Those people were never fans in the beginning. I just dont get Jacksonville. UF is not even located in Jacksonville but these nuts are Tebow Zombies. If UF was located here I would understand such a strong Gator fan base. But geez give me a break.  And whats even more funny, is when the local media, randomly stops people and calls them Jaguar fans? How about talking to people who actually goes to the games and are season ticket holders.

I understand what you are saying, but it's not like UF is at the other end of the state either. There are a lot of people in Jacksonville that went to UF.

Thats a different story. I can understand if the person is an Alumni. But sadly 90% if the gators fans in this city are not Alumni.

I hear that argument all the time, but really...how do you know if someone went there or not? I am sure there is a  portion of the fans here in town that didn't go to uf...but I would think 90% is completely wrong too.

I-10east

^^^Hell, I won't be surprised if the '90 percent non-alumni' in Jax is too low!
