Solantic Headquarters to Abandon Jacksonville for Nashville

It also looks like we got the governor who will run the state like a business. Cut throat and ruthless. Scott is supposed to be the leader of the entire state, yet we keep hearing how he plans to screw North Florida if we don't do what he wants. Yep that's pretty much big business. I am certain he gets a kick back from the Koch brothers. What a vile bunch of creeps pulling the strings in this country.

Reprisals and paybacks are common in politics, even among the politicians that actually have some public consciousness.  For Lake Ray to go on record with comments to that effect, there must be some truth to it. I wouldn't count on much help from the Governor for the next few years.

Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

^Right. He's basically digging his own political grave. Keep up the good work gov.

:(... Oh well. I guess we aren't that big of a medical hub after all.

I wouldn't go that far. It's not like we lost the Mayo Clinic or something. Solantic is basically a step above a pill mill, I'll give them that much.

I don't think this will crush our city, but given that two former CEO's are the state governor and in the mayor's administration, it's surprising that they were allowed to leave.  I'm sure some sort of leverage could have been applied to get them to stay.  This is another example of why Jax needs to strengthen its core industries, not try to be a catch all for business.  Nashville has the economies of scale in place that draws in similar businesses.

For those 99%er's  out there, this is the business example of the rich getting richer.  Those with money attract more money.  Areas with a heavy concentration in a business sector attract more members of that sector.

From observing Lake Ray for eight years, I can tell you this.  He may be a lot of things, but I do not believe he is a liar.  I have never caught him in a deliberate falsehood, and he is pretty transparent about his often embarrassing opinions.  Lake Ray will pretty much get played by William H. Macy when they make the story of his life.

On the other hand, the Governor is a proven liar.

I wasn't insinuating that Lake Ray was lying, I don't believe he was.

I just would like to see someone hold Scott's office accountable for these types of statements.

He's gone farther than digging his own grave, he already has one foot in it.

What I meant was we don't have as big of an impact on the medical world as I thought we did. But like you said it is just Solantic. It just seems weird for this particular company to be leaving Jacksonville (and Florida) for another city given the history of the company.
