Hi all.  I have been reading MetroJacksonville's site for quite some time now.  I guess lurking is what you call it.  I just love the forums, especially Downtown and Springfield.

Does anyone know who to contact about renting Snyder Memorial for a wedding venue?

Welcome gomias... I am sure someone here knows...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

The City owns the property, so I believe you have to get an events permit from COJ.
Call Marry Ferrel over at COJSpecial Events 630-2681, mferrell@coj.net.  Mary is awesome and would let you know where to go.

Thanks for the quick response.  I called Mary and she told me that she handles Senior Events.  She was great and transferred me over to Special Events, 630-3690.  Snyder Memorial is available, just no restrooms that work.  If it's a short wedding ceremony, it could work!

We looked into Snyder for our wedding, too. The restrooms thing was an issue then too (last November). It's not an issue if you're having the reception elsewhere, and if you're having it there, IIRC you can bring in port-o-lets.

We also checked out Old St. Andrews, which is also really pretty, but not cheap (by our standards).
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?
