New Rail~Volutionaries: Advancing the Movement - Together

Tuesday, October 18, 12:00 pm-1:30 pm

Oregon's Senator Jeff Merkley will give the keynote speech: Too often advocates of rail, pedestrians, cycling and mass transit operate in so-called competing silos. How can the next generation, the New Rail~Volutionaries, adjust that mindset and promote livable communities -- together? It's your call to action. Meet, listen, discuss and move forward.A lot has happened since the New Rail~Volutionaries group was founded last year. Participants have formed New Rail~Volutionaries chapters across North America and have worked hard to make Rail~Volution a conference and movement that better fits new and emerging professionals. Meet fellow New Rail~Volutionaries, discuss progress and plans, and learn how you can create your own chapter in your home city.

Moderator: Nolan Lienhart, Urban Designer, ZGF Architects LLP, Portland, Oregon

Interested in starting your own local chapter of New Rail~Volutionaries?

We are actively seeking impassioned New Rail~Volutionaries in other regions to join our effort.  Chapters can be as informal as a group that meets for regular happy hours, to one that serves a new catalyst for regional change or actively participates on the New Rail~Volutionaries National Committee.

We ask for your region's support of the New Rail~Volutionaries.  In doing so, our National Committee will support your chapter by connecting it with Rail~Volutionaries in your region who have expressed interest in being connected with other like-minded visionaries.  The attached New Chapter Start-Up Kit will help your chapter become organized.  An available DVD of films from the 2010 New Rail~Volutionaries film festival will create opportunity for chapter kick-off events and generate excitement for furthering this effort.
