Hello. I am new to the Jacksonville area, and am looking for a group of knitters/crocheters who meet on the Northside. There was one advertised in the North Jax Monthly, which met at the Dinsmore Community Center called the Ball of Yarn Club, but the Community Center has changed its hours, so I am unsure whether this group is still meeting or not. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Knitter here!  I am not aware of a group that meets on the Northside, but there is a Meetup group, Jax Knits that gets together regularly.  Are you on Ravelry.com?  If so, look up the Jax Knits and Jax Ravelers groups.  If not, get on there, it's a great resource.  The group members post fairly regularly about meetups and we tend to get together every few months at the Riverside Arts Market for a meetup.

Thank you for your reply. I had already looked into Jax Knits and on Ravelry. I retired recently, and have been looking for a group that meets during the day instead of at night. Jax Knits usually meets on the Southside - Avenues Mall is almost 30 miles from my home on the Northside. But I will keep an eye out for your meetings at the Riverside Arts Market. Thank you again.

Hello.  All you knitters, crocheters, and crafters.  I am new to this site. Just joined today.  I'm with several "connecting threads" group.  There's one  group called "the
sewing friends" that meets every Monday from 10am - 2 pm at Regional Library, 1425 Chaffee Rd.  Everybody works independently, and do their own thing.  Some quilt, others knit or crochet, sew clothing, plastic canvas, or other crafts. It is open to the public and there's NO fee to join.  Come out and join us.

There is another group I am with and we are desperately in need of more members.
We are considered the "Adults 4-H Group.  We meet monthly.  Our headquarters is the Extension Bldg on McDuff Ave. It is affiliated with Fl University.  But we have other smaller groups called "Home and Community Educator."  We learn, do, and share.  We make Care Packages for Shane Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, etc.

Finally, every Friday, we met at Edgewood Christian Center across from Compass Bank.
on Edgewood Ave, and crochet, do various, etc. from 10am - 12 noon. This too is free.

Please contact me if interested.
