These GIS maps contain the fixed transit projects proposed for Jacksonville through the horizon year of 2035.  All of the projects are included in JTA's plans, the North Florida TPO 2035 LRTP or the COJ 2030 Mobility Plan.   The map also includes the Mobility Plan Development Areas and potential station locations with a 1/2 mile TOD radius drawn around them.  I figured this would help visualize the overall fixed transit network (including JTA's BRT) if fully developed as proposed over the next two decades.  It is assumed that the existing bus network would be modified to support these fixed systems as they come online, serving as feeders into neighborhoods and areas of town not immediately adjacent to fixed transit spine routes.

The first map is an urban core blow up of the larger map.

This large map (you'll have to scroll to the right) contains the key and the entire network for Duval County.

Mobility Plan Development Areas:

COJ is working on modifying the 2030 Comp plan and zoning regulations to allow for more denser transit supportive development at select locations with in the Urban Priority (UPA) and Urban Areas (UA).  While most consider all of Jax to be a municipality with full of low density neighborhoods, these two zones combine for what is essentially Jacksonville's urban core and denser first ring suburbs.  Here, the opportunity exists to build upon existing building fabric and infrastructure to create a walkable core area from Jacksonville over the next two decades, through transit investment and land use changes.

Wonderful - thank you!

Is there a way to permanently link this to the MJ home page for easy reference?

Are there images for the road projects as well?
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Yes, There are maps for the bicycle and pedestrian projects also.  When I get some extra time, I'll add them.
