Definitely a good crowd last night.  Disappointing to see the Old Main Library was closed though...I think the Art Walk flyers still had it listed as a venue.

^Yeah, what happened with that? It was definitely still on the flyers. I meant to go over and see what was going on.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

I went by there around 9.  The fish tacos were more like fish fillet served on top of tortillas.  I honestly had over a half pound of fish between the two tacos.  The fish were blackened and well cooked.  I cut the fillets in half and ate half on the tacos and half by themselves.  The mandarin oranges, cabbage and sauce all blended well and provided some really great flavors.  The fries were delicious as well..

Also, I tell you all this because you are my friends.... PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE THIS.  They serve Stone Arrogant Bastard for $3.  For those who don't know, AB is served in a 22 oz bottle and it is an extremely rich and flavorful beer with 7.2% abv.  In contrast, that same beer, same portion size, is $7 at Shantytown.  I doubt any of you can really handle AB, it's for a more sophisticated palette.  Anyway... All their beers are EXTREMELY well priced, which you seldom see nowadays.

There was a sign on the door - I can't remember all of what it said, but apparently the library isn't going to be used as a venue until further notice due to 'development'.

Nice, Cap'n. Nice.   ;D ;D
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Not to be a broken record but, yea, those fish tacos are delicious, as were the fries! I wanted falafel but they were out, so I got the tacos. Also, the beer selection is small but decent quality, and as Capt said real well priced.

Glad you enjoyed the Taco's. Was OLIO doing much business last night? Just curious. MM

Go buy some AB and read the back of the bottle, then you'll know.

They had some decent traffic, but this was between 9 and 10.  I imagine they were very busy earlier in the night.  The staff looked pretty beat and based on PeeJay's comment it sounds like they were low on ingredients.

Does anyone know what the "development" is? I hadn't heard anything.

um...the planned library project...its been in the works for over 3 years...there are threads about it all over this site.

of course, a more likely answer would be that the heat in there was just not bearable

Tacachale

^Um... and nothing has been done on that for like a year... and they haven't announced that they found an anchor tenant, which is what they said was holding it back... hence my question. ;)

But seriously, is there some new development in the Main Branch project, or is this just routine work?
