The Green is coming :)

I got a call today that the Sod had arrived and was just starting to be laid.  I trucked on down and got some pictures of the first sod being laid.  More palm trees were also in place and within a week i would imagine we will get a good idea of the finished look of the Park...

Also if you view some of the other pictures I took today you will see the entire west side of the park is all set for sod being laid...

I also used a new App on my Dell Streak and got this image, almost looks like all the green is there ;)

Here is what the finished Light Stands around the Fountain look like:

A huge improvement over the old tile covered stands IMHO...

And if anyone happens, just happens to be on the Main Street bridge tomorrow evening, May 26, say around 8 PM or so you might just get to see the Fountain flowing with lights and music...  Just maybe now, can't promise but...

Enjoy,
Bob

Ps... I also took this short video of the Fountain flowing, just to get the juices going ;)

Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

After myself and 4 friends made our way out of an overcrowded Beerfest last Friday, we went to Chicago's Pizza for some full size beers and some grub.

The fountain was operating providing a beautiful view from the patio, really looks nice at night!

Nice work!

Just rode by on my bike, the sod looks really good.  Bob do you know what kind of grass it is?  Didn't look like St Aug. but I was outside of the fence so I wasn't that close.

No I didn't ask, i will ask tomorrow evening, but it isn't St. Augustine which would never hold up for that use as far as I know.  Bermuda would be my guess but, just a guess.

I also just uploaded this video i took today, to get the "juices" flowing for those that haven't seen it yet ;)

Me too! I had an appointment DT on my lunch break and coming back across the main street bridge I noticed. Once I was at work, I also watched it out the window. Thats when I noticed the grass being put down. I dont recall it ever looking this amazing. Money well spent this time!

Absolutely! If only all our money were so well spent...

Ok folks, the grass is Tifway 419 Bermuda grass.

I just got back from the first full test of the night lighting and programming for the Fountain and I took hundreds of pictures which will take some time to sort through but here is a couple just to wet your appetite...  ;)

They also pumped the center ring to max which just before a gust of wind came along looked as tall as I can ever remember and they say max is now around 110 feet...

Once I sort through all the rest of the pictures I will upload them and post again.

But I have to say that the Fountain was just awesome when the music was playing, lights changing and the rings going up and down in pressure and height...

Awesome is the only word i can think of tonight :)
