A nice, short concession statement.  Okay, good.

Let's move forward!

The Alvin campaign won't say anything until tomorrow to honor Mike Hogan. They will have a press conference tomorrow morning.

Now comes the hard part...getting a handle on our city council and forcing them to grow up and treat this city like a metropolitan city and not like it's callahan or something...

That means more of us need to go to these meetings as well.

who all is going to the Hyatt tonight? I say we all need to go and celebrate this historic day!

duvaldude08

I wish I could, but I have to stay in tonight.  But the journey has just begun. We all know that people resist change. (Im putting it lightly, read in between the line.) He might have to step on some toes to get the job done, but it will be all worth it in the end. If we give him the full eight years, I think we will be a different city when its all over. Im excited and ready!

I went down there with TUFSU1 no party. Alvin decided to call it a night and spend it with his family. We were told 11am tomorrow at Hemming Plaza in front of City HAll.

Congrats to Alvin.  I hope he moves Jacksonville forward in a positive and progressive way.

If that's true, I might have to hike it over there.

Speaking of Sleiman, I'm hopeful that we will get a quick resolution to the eternal Landing parking battle with a new administration.

guess that depends on whether Brown is willing to reach across the aisle...and if Sleiman can behave like an adult

I would be interested to see or hear (it may have already been mentioned in this thread, sorry) as to how many Republicans crossed over to vote for Brown.  I was one of them and I know several more who did as well.  While that isn't a scientific survey, I have heard from others that they know of Reps who did.  What was even more interesting in the conversations was that the folks I spoke to said that they did so after going to the Godbold fundraiser.  I am just curious to know.
