All of those who threw in with Hogan opportunistically just because he was bound to win are probably wondering what the hell just happened.  I am mad Wayne Weaver hedged his bets with Hogan.

At least Taylor was more likely to be indicted or arrested for something in the near future, so we could've gotten another shot at that seat with another candidate.

My understanding is that the absentee votes in question are not from people who mailed in an absentee ballot.  They are from the people who requested an absentee ballot and then showed up at the polls to cast a vote.  They won't count them until it can be confirmed that they did not also mail in an absentee ballot.

I was confused about what Abel/Corrine were talking about here, too. You cannot vote an absentee ballot on election day. You may surrender the absentee ballot and vote a regular ballot.

If you do not surrender the ballot, and the precinct captain determines that the SOE office has not received your absentee ballot, then you can vote a regular ballot and the SOE will reject your illegal absentee ballot if it is received later.

Was Corrine talking about provisional ballots?

just reported....recount will cost $100,000...but the person losing can choose not to have the recount done...we're about to find out how serious Hogan is about cutting spending!

Downtown Brown beats Teabag clown

One thing, as a Republican I'm tired of Hogan being called the fiscal conservative 'tea-party' candidate.  He was ENDORSED by the 2 BIGGEST public unions in the city.  Those 'conservatives' dumb enough to vote for him simply because he had an R next to his name were willfully ignorant morons.

Shore is the chairman and he will decide what challenges go through and listen to them.

The three members will hand review 642 provisional and approximately 1,000 absentee ballots, then all of them will be machine counted. If there is a recount needed, it will then proceed.

I saw Jerry Holland say that on FCN.

Hogan wasn't even elected and he's still costing the Jacksonville taxpayer money!

Hmmm, I guess downtown's health is important to suburban Jacksonville after all.  Just wondering.  Has Jacksonville ever elected an African-American mayor?
