QuoteHogan has had decades to learn and hasn't learned anything about what this city needs.  It's time to finally get him out of our government.

Wow, now that is responsible. So every politician you disagree with should leave, say, now? Why not add the tarring and feathers while you are at it?  :-*

There you go mtrain, nail on the head.  I was actually trying to say that we should tar and feather Hogan, I just didn't put it so eloquently.  Thanks for perfectly interpreting what I said [/bleeding sarcasm]

You obviously don't care at all about actually making serious statements on this thread, so just save yourself the time and quit posting.

Your ridiculous argument was that Alvin doesn't have the 'experience' to be mayor of Jax (because extensive involvement in other, more dire markets doesn't count).

My response was that what you call experience, I call wasted time.  By your logic, Hogans decades of time spent in political positions in and for Jax should make him a genius and totally in tune with the needs of our city.  I said that since he has is not either of those things, why should we give him yet another chance to get it right? It does not look like he is going to change now, and it is easy to see that his current platform and direction are bad for our city.  I never said anything about disagreeing with Hogan.  I never said he should 'leave, say, now'.  We just don't need to give him any more time making decisions for the city.

So.... Thanks for trying to stir the pot, but lets leave room for the serious posters.

Funniest thing I have heard all day!!!!! Thanks for the chuckle!!! 8)

Produce someone from New Orleans who benefitted from Browns leadership is the issue here. No one can, why not? Surely someone benefitted from his leadership. No one really brings it up at the debates, because no one can substantiate the claim.

This would be a great point if Hogan had a sterling reputation for leadership.  Why don't you get Hogan to show up to a televised debate? Then we can ask Brown in front of everybody why he doesn't have a strong endorsement from New Orleans.  I'm sure he'd be happy to answer.  He's not afraid of speaking on tv.

I think M-train would be a great campaign manager for Hogan  ;)

From Today's Daily Record (Thank goodness for Jim Bailey!):

Brown, Hogan meet again...responding to questions at the Arlington Council of the Jax Chamber:

QuoteHogan discussed his advantage in dealing with unions from his time in the private business sector with BellSouth and posed a question.

“Who do you want bargaining,” asked Hogan, “someone who’s done that and has experience or a rookie?”

Brown, answering second, seemed initially taken aback by Hogan’s answer and responded to the question stating that pension negotiations on the City’s side needed to be handled by someone without ties to local government, “an outsider.”

The race is coming down to who has the experience in local government, and the choice is clear in Mike Hogan. We don't need another "learning on the job mayor", we just had 8 years of it.

We certainly don't need a mayor whose policies as Councilman and legislature led us to the financial position we are in.

Dang, M-Train, your views are so contradicting. My brain is entering into a full overload, and need an emergency shutdown to eject some of the silly things I gathered from your pool of rubbish statements. /sarcasm

From what you have said in the past, it seems safe to assume you are not being realistic, but being uncertain.

It takes a whole lot of experience to screw up our city the way the Good Ole Boys have done.  What do we have to show for the same clique running things into the ground?  Not a whole lot.  Before the 2010 elections, Nancy Pelosi was a more experienced speaker of the house than John Boehner, so why did we have to hand the gavel over to a rookie?  But, I forget that only Republicans can run as 'outsiders.'  Otherwise, Democrats who run as outsiders should be run out of town on a rail...

QuoteThis is the dumbest thing Ive heard so far in the race.  Are you sure you don't want to see his birth certificate while your at it?

You certainly use that line a lot, you must hear a lot of news and information that you interpret with your own opinion to be dumb. I see a lot of your posts as idiotic, so touché.

I think that we have already established that there is nothing that Alvin Brown can do to win over mtraininjax.
