I'll be there...congrats again on being a partner in setting this up!

Hogan's absence speaks volumes.  With that many organizations involved, there should be a decent crowd there, particularly considering how actice those neighborhoods are.  Why would this not be worth his time?

Is there a conflict with a Tea Party event?

Again it really upsets me that Hogan is not attending.  He is avoiding answering to the tax paper.  As mayor is he going to treat the tax payer's concerns the same way... run away and hide?  Whatever his stance I hope he steps up and becomes a man.  If you cannot handle this kind of forum and these kinds of questions, then being a politician is not for you Mike Hogan!

Remember he thinks of Downtown as just any other neighborhood. It is not important to him.

JeffreyS

Remember it is hard to know what he thinks because by his own admission the way to be elected is to lie.

Quote"Mike Hogan has said, in words I find chilling, that 'you run different than you govern,'" Rummell wrote. "Many elected officials find themselves faced with difficult situations that force them to compromise on campaign promises. However, in my forty-two years in business, and through my involvement in political campaigns, I have never heard anyone acknowledge that as a strategy up front. So what is Mike Hogan for now, and what will he be for later?"

Stephen, if Hogan declines again, could you please do me a favor??

If you happen to get one of Erin Isaac's famous dismissals, would you please share it with us??  I love how she's able to make it seem like us lowly citizens are interfering with their serious campaign.  She is a master at making us look like the bad guys for trying to interfere with the real politikin'.

This forum is not just downtown specific.  Its basically the urban core of the city, which extends west to Murray Hill, south to San Marco and the Northside.  Not only are there people living within these neighborhoods, they are also the home to the city's Fortune 500 companies, several railyards, JAXPORT and a number of commercial and cultural establishments.  Due to the age and density of this area, its needs are very different from those in the newer suburban areas.  However, make no doubt about it, this place is an economic powerhouse compared to the rest of the city.

I will be liveblogging the event as well.  This time the Internet access is guaranteed.  If anyone wants to bring cameras to upload during the event  or help blogalong, that would be awesome

I can bring my camera and usb drive.

So they knew in advance that Austin was going to pass away?

Kay

You realize I was being sarcastic.  Hogan had already declined.  Now the excuse is Austin's viewing.

Correctly stated.  Will hold my tongue about the unseemly nature of using this as an excuse, given they've already declined to attend.

If Hogan does show up, Ask him specific questions regarding DT. Corner him publicly so he can't run and hide.

Jimmy

urbaknight, now you're getting down to the real reason Hogan declined to participate.
