Tornado strikes St Louis Lambert Field

Some may be interested in watching surveillance cameras of the tornado that ripped through the St Louis Airport on Friday.

Of note:

- Debris being sucked down the hall as the tornado bears down
- The mad scramble down the hall in luggage return as the PA announces everyone to take cover
- The leisurely rate the cell phone talker has about the whole thing watching calmly as the tornado bears down and ducks in the bathroom
- The TSA staff running for their lives as the x-Ray equipment starts floating across the entrance

and the real laugher

- 3 ladies and luggage trying to make their Metrolink train with a 60mph headwind, ignoring the warnings on the PA.

You could write a thesis on human behavior on these video clips alone.

The scary one not shown on a video, the 2 (full) planes waiting at the end of a taxiway for takeoff clearance while the tornado rips the roof off the terminal.

In all no one was killed. A major miracle.

I am in St. Louis this last weekend and today. We had about 2 min warning to get in the basement. It is crazy how fast a city can be hit.

Spring in the Midwest, its common for tornadoes and lots of them during March, April, May. Having spent a few years in Indiana, they do come at you pretty fast with little warning.
