Just Say No To Kimberly Daniels

The Kimberly Daniels stuff is bubbling up again all over the place.

The case in chief against her is here:  http://www.truthwinsout.org/pressreleases/2011/04/16108/

QuoteBURLINGTON, Vt. â€" Truth Wins Out today called on Jacksonville, FL City Council candidate Kimberly Daniels (D) to bow out of the race after shocking videos revealed offensive comments about Jews and slavery. In the newly discovered video footage found by researcher Bruce Wilson, Daniels preaches to her flock: “You can talk about the Holocaust, but the Jews own everything.”

Daniels also says, “I thank God for slavery. If it wasn’t for slavery, I might be somewhere in Africa worshipping a tree.”

“These radical statements show that Kimberly Daniels is an extremist who is unfit for office and should immediately quit the race for the good of the city,” said Truth Wins Out’s Executive Director Wayne Besen. “A victory for Daniels would be disgraceful and turn Jacksonville into a national laughingstock.”

The worst of the YouTube videos is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35xouuMFE7E&feature=player_embedded  (she's a demon buster, y'all)

Local news is trying to wrap their arms around it here:

My general take:

I should begin by saying that I think Jacksonville is better than either David Taylor or Kimberly Daniels.
But, with that said, one of them will be sworn in as the next Council Members for At-Large Group 1. Whether I vote or not, one of them takes the oath of office.

I'm voting for David Taylor, and here's why: if the various complaints against him have merit, he will be disbarred as a lawyer, likely prosecuted, and will be forced to leave the Council. The voters of Jacksonville would get a do-over, and hopefully we do a better job of finding a candidate for the race than either of these people.

Daniels is just flat-out bigoted. The things she's said about gays, about Jews, and slavery, about... so many things. They're outrageous and do not show the kind of serious judgment we need from our leaders. But none of those things is legally actionable. And none of them rise to what would be necessary to remove her from office. We'd be stuck with her.

I've never seen a race that so perfectly encapsulated the old "lesser of two evils" better than this one. Taylor has my vote, if not my support.

Daniels would never get my vote.. One hate message was enough.

BridgeTroll

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Springfielder

She screams her prejudices loud and clear...that's one sick woman and she sure as hell has no place on city council!

Not to derail, but see, GG, here's a situation where I can't vote for the so-called Democrat.  I just can't do it.  And I know that if enough people take a pass on voting in this race at all, this person could be elected.  So I'm taking the pragmatic step of voting for her Republican opponent.

The lines aren't always neat and tidy in politics.

I bought the Black and Decker Demonbuster a few years ago.  It' great for those wicked evil corners that your normal vacuum just can't get.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

Does it vaccum up bad people seeking office?

Seriously, though I have to wonder what she thinks her message conveys?

We ought to be able to go to the polls and select NOTA (None Of The Above) and force a do over.

Makes more sense than some of the other things I have seen posted! At the minimum, a do over should be in the rules...............when you have a choice between two and neither or very good, there is no choice but the lesser of the two or is it the more?
