QuoteHearing him talk about his role in urban redevelopment with the Clinton Administration and then with the re-building of New Orleans after Katrina,

I'm glad he can speak to his own accomplishments, but can anyone else speak to them? any leaders from Washington or people in Katrina who were personally affected by his leadership and actions?

I believe that Bill Clinton came to Jacksonville and spoke about those accomplishments.  But, I understand that his recommendation may not hold as much weight as Rick Scott's.

Oh OK, so it's slightly bigger than my alma mater, The Citadel. Cool. BTW, you guys have a GREAT mascot!  ;D As far as academics, I think some of the best education actually comes from the smaller universities.

Charles Native, you are so right about smaller universities, at least for some of us.  I struggled my first year at FSU; too many distractions, too many huge lecture classes taught by bored graduate students.  Came home, got a job, went to classes at JU which suited me much better.  Smaller classes taught interesting professors were almost like graduate seminars.  Did just fine there despite having to work full time.  I'm one of those who learns best from people, not from textbooks.

QuotePretty cool stuff.  I hope to visit the MSRI soon and will share some more non-political interesting things about Jacksonville in my quest to lighten things up around here a little bit.

Doug, why don't you and Jacob come with me on April 30th?  I am going up to MSRI in the morning before the Duke/JU lacrosse game.

Dr White and the MSRI may be the best thing to have happened to the St Johns since water was invented.
