Rick Scott’s First 100 Days
During his first 100 days in office, Governor Rick Scott has the lowest approval ratings of any recent Governor. He has angered lawmakers, picked fights with the media, and held meetings with legislative leaders out of the sunshine.

BUT there are no repercussions for him.............he does have free reign!

QuoteAccording to a new Suffolk University poll, 54% of Florida voters said the state was headed in the wrong direction. Scott’s disapproval rating is nearly twice his approval rating â€" 48% to 28%.

Nothing we can do about it:

QuoteThe only problem for Floridians unhappy with their governor, is no matter how far he takes his corporate reforms there’s no way to recall him.

He probably laughs at all of us everyday.

So true, he's laughing all the way to the bank:

Scott: "Best Time to be Governor"
Gov. Rick Scott says he’s perfectly happy with the big controversies over the bold actions he and other GOP governors are taking â€" and that it’s “the best time to be governor.”

And his buddies in Big Business are doing the same:

QuoteDoes anyone remember a candidate who promised to raise everyone's home insurance bills? That's poised to happen soon, thanks to statehouse maneuvers to benefit private insurance companies. Does anyone recall a candidate who promised to help Florida Power and Light corner the market on alternative energy, or a candidate who ran on a platform of denying life-giving drugs and medical care to those who need it the most?

Of course not. No politicians advocate those types of actions on the campaign trail. But once they get to Tallahassee, they drop the pretense of representing the common good, and they follow the money, which leads right to big corporations and the political bosses who cater to them.

Check the record of any of our local legislators. None of them defy the party leadership on substantial votes. (Columnist's note to the local delegation: Anyone who can provide an example where you have recently made a principled stand against the party line, I'd be pleased to publicize it.) Read the newspaper. Every day there's another example of our representatives doing something we would not condone if we thought it through.

Florida currently allows for the recall of local elected officials, but there is no provision in state law to allow for the recall of state officials. House Joint Resolution 785 and House Bill 787, both sponsored by Representative Kriseman, would allow the public to recall from office Florida legislators, members of the Florida Cabinet, governor and lieutenant governor.

A new Public Policy Polling survey in Florida finds Gov. Rick Scott (R) has hit a new low with just 26% of voters approving of his job performance to 58% who disapprove.

In fact, Scott would lose a hypothetical rematch with Alex Sink (D), 53% to 37%.
