why havent the sons of the Confederate Veterans sponsored any great celebrations of the seperate but equal black history of The South?

Stephendare, you misunderstand my intent? It's not that slavery was a good thing or even a forgivable sin...God knows we might all have hung with the men of Sparticus back in the day. My own family was too busy fighting "red legs" and border ruffians to pay much attention to slavery. Though we continued to keep the family close, as they were freed 30 years before the war. NO LONGER ENSLAVED, yet I met one lady as a child. Tell me her name was Mann, and her skin was black... Tell me she isn't blood of my blood and skin of my skin... You see I loved her too.

You ask a question and yes, I can answer it on the qualifications of those who lived before civil rights:
In the great reunion at Gettysburg in 1890, over 50,000 men showed up from both sides. The US Army quartermasters dispatched 2 units to house and feed all of those men. Tents and cabins were provided for every man Union or Confederate... well, except for the 3,000 BLACK CONFEDERATES who showed up and were told by good old Uncle Sam, we have no quarters for you, so you camp on the ground. When the various Confederate Veterans heard this they were furious and gave up their own tents, or went "Spooning" in order to make room for their black brothers in arms. Sounds like a celebration to me. DITTO the 1890 Alabama Reunion, 1890 Vicksburg, 1913 Gettysburg and 1938 Gettysburg camps.

My point is we claim to be the bright light in the dark, the equal of all equals, and frankly it's bull shit. Yes we are the land of the FREE and a man can say what ever he wants to say, "as long as it's what THEY approve of". THAT IS REVISION. I just get ill when I know that every little church in every community has that little painting of "LINCOLN THE CHRISTIAN SAVIOR" in the Sunday school room... and if they only would READ THE RECORD!

delegate from Washington, County, rose to speak:

A team of biological anthropologists at Howard University in Washington are intensely focused on
a most grisly aspect of New York City's past. Led by Dr. Michael Blakey, the team has spent several
years examining the skeletal remains of more than 400 African slaves whose graves were accidentally

I also agree that Glorious is to be honored for her position.

Lastly, as a member of the SCV and one of their commanders, poor Stephendare my friend, you NEED to come to one of our meetings... Just say that "N" word or suggest "everybody ought to.." and watch your ass get booted out our door! Otherwise, be glad to take you along sometime, as someone who isn't afraid of exposing a hidden truth... In THAT we are a BAND OF BROTHERS... (the real anthem)

The JAMES HULL camp in Daytona Beach, makes a habit of going into the poor often black neighborhods and building ADA access ramps for children and wheelchair bound folks...Color doesn't matter.
