Hello all
As long as there has been some discussion about favorite eateries I thought I would throw one of mine out. Its not in Jacksonville but actually just across the border in St George Ga. Its called Shack by the Track right in downtown St George. Best falling off the bone meat you will ever eat. Its a locals place mostly but I have seen many license plates from as far away as North Carolina. Mostly South Georgia and North Floirda obviously. They are open Wed through Sunday and ONLY take cash.

This place is not that great.  Compared to bono's or Jenkins BBQ.  Plus it's all the way out in St George most people don't even know where that is.  The only reason to be in St George is if your going to the dump where they found that little girl or your cutting over to Fargo to go to S A Foster state park.  Now the Quick Chic in Folkston has the best fried pork chops around.  Plus a good selection of southern influenced sides.  Plus it's cheap and they take debit.  So the shack has bad hours, ok food, only cash.  You might as well stop in Moniac and get a fresh made sandwich from Lacy's
Forza Napoli!  EPL has nothing on the Serie A

I'm sorry you feel that way because I totally disagree. Bad hours?? They are open late on weekends. The meat slides off the bone...the portions are big..compared to Bonos, theer is no comparison. So they only take cash..so what? Folks who go there already know that. Yes it is off the beaten track, but speaking of track, right next to the Norfolk Southern track into and out of Jacksonville.

I've been twice! What I had was pretty darn good. The Boston Butt is their specialty and it's worth the drive. I went with a friend (both times) who had heard / read about it. I'm not sure if the way he took us is the only way there... but it was a little dodgy. There is one leg just across the state line that was miles of dirt road. Parts of it were soft sand and I could see some BBQ trekkers getting stuck.
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

That would have been Kent-Crawford Rd..very much a dirt road. Best way is to go Beaver St through Baldwin then turn north on 121, Brandy Branch Rd. That takes you to FL 2 which becomes Ga 94 when you cross the river.
