When is the San Marco Boulevard Streetscape supposed to be completed?

Is what you call "Downtown Northbank" LaVilla?  And the courthouse is built in what was once LaVilla?

The historical dividing line between LaVilla and the Northbank was the block between Broad and Clay Streets.  So a western most piece of the courthouse super block falls into what was historically known as LaVilla.

Took a trip down Stockton yesterday to get some peanut butter pie at Bakery Moderne (yum) and noticed that ugly 50s building on the John Gorrie site was being torn down. Yea!!! Bulldozers were buzzing. Now you have a nice view of the old school from Stockton Street. Thank you again to the Weavers!

I asked this on another thread; I heard that they will be putting in retail that mirrors what is already across Stockton.  Is there any truth to this??  Is there going to be any retail component to John Gorrie??

The retail on Stockton has really improved lately, but I feel like it lacks the concentration of complementing uses to ever go beyond the state it is at right now.

I think the current commercial mix is great.  Add in the residents at John Gorrie and that commercial strip is going to have all the foot traffic it needs.  Maybe even the old Skinners Dairy storefront will actually stop being a revolving door and the stop n shop next door will be cleaned up and be an attractive commercial front now that the only foot traffic it experiences will no longer be buying loosies and 16 oz beer cans.

Was Pop's Diner the reason for the patchouli smell in the area before 13g opened up?

If so, he needs another storefront, too.  I used to remember that corner more from the smell of it, than from the looks of it.

The John Gorrie School should have pricing available by next week. Wes Dailey is the sight agent with Prudential Network Realty. Lake, Ock, Stephen, he would love to have you come in and take pictures of what has been transformed. You can contact him next week to set up a meeting. Who knows, maybe Mrs. Weaver may be there when you visit.
