Great time for all concerned. Is there something like this for oldtimers? (55+ )

Oldtimer Bruce

In younger years, I had always been an avid player of hardball. After hardball, trying to play with a softball just had never felt like baseball for me, although i had been very impressed with the skill level involved in this game, too.
What a blast to be able to play hardball with this heritage equipment!  I would be very interested in finding a location that had this format available for oldtimers to play. ( around 55 to 65+ )  With a number of players, we might have unlimited substitutions for running, pitching and catching.  Not sure just how dead the "dead ball" is, but this and the wooden bats should make the game safer for the "more mature" reflexes.
Is there a location, other than The Field of Dreams, where oldtimers can play for fun, sportsmanship and just because there is still a "kid at heart" inside, that wants to play?

Hey Bruce, Im not sure if you are talking about the throwback teams we put together here in Springfield, amd we dont have any age limits if you were wanting to come check it out.

If you dont live in SPR, its cool, we would love to see some other neighborhoods put together some teams too. If your around Sunday, 3ish, come to Klutho Park at 3rd and Silver and check out some throwback baseball with old style equipment, dead ball era balls, and baseball rules (steals, bunts, hit and runs and all)

We are all amateurs (some more than others, like me for instance) but we make it a fun competitive game. throw me an email at downtownparks@gmail.com if you are interested in knowing more.

Here is our poster from last 4th of July. We are doing it again this year as part of SPARs heritage days. No matter how good or bad a day you have, you should at the very least have fun!!!

And here was the coverage from the local Tevee stations.
