He started from St. Augustine on Monday on a 300 mile peace walk for Tibet.
Very sad, and unfortunately all too common an occurrence in the Sunshine State--the human body is a frail contender against a two ton SUV.

This stretch of A1A has an adjacent bike path running from St. Augustine to Ormond Beach. No way in hell would I not use it. I used to ride a bike on the side of the road here years before the path was finished and it has always been dangerous. Speeding and near miss passes are very common through the Hammock area since there is usually no county law enforcement presence on the beach side of A1A. It is tragic but his local friends should have not let him on that road at 7:30pm..way to dark and late...especially with a decent 6 foot wide bike path right there on the east side of the road. Damn preventable tragedy.
