Since many of us on here frequent Riverside eateries I figured I would pass this on.

Jacksonville.com is running a daily-deal for O'Brothers where you can get a $25 meal voucher for only $12. They also have a lunch special for a voucher worth $15 that only costs $7.

Lol, O'Prices is more like it. Home of the $14 Sysco greaseburger.

If you buy the voucher, you're really just getting the food at its actual retail value anywhere else. Lol.

Since Kickbacks came into its own I can't understand why O'Prices is still open.

I went to Kickback's for a meal and some beer the other night, and it was packed w/ a 40 minute wait. Any idea when the best time to go is? Also, what are the better food items there? Looks like a huge selection of bar food--just wandering if anything stands out as a 'must try'.

^Most week nights you can get into Kickbacks with no, or a very minimal, wait. However on the weekends, the place can stay packed all night. If you want a table quick or for a large group, you have to get there rather early. I would say around 7-8, and even then the place will be filling up.

I was kind of confused, as it was my first time there. Is there bar seating? Or is it more restaurant style? Looked like a packed restaurant with a ton of beer. Then again, I was only in there for 60 seconds before I left for a lesser filled place to hang out.

O'Brothers is always on halfoffdepot.com as well.

They have lowered their beer prices to a more reasonable price point and if you haven't been to Bussin Your Chops(their food cart) its really good.  If you want something quick and fried their fried corned beef sandwich thing is really good and they have fried pineapple, which is awesome.

I agree though on Kickbacks.  It is indeed phenomenal.

If there is any kind of occasion at all (Football game, baseball game, holiday, mother's day....etc) or on weekends, kickbacks is packed.  The crowd was still going at about 2:40 am a couple weeks ago.  I'd say early weekday night or afternoon on weekends are your best bet if you don't want crowds.

In response to Chris, I think O'Bros has lowered their prices.  Their happy hour runs all day except for 7-9 pm (which is understandable) and during those times the prices are more than reasonable.  They also knocked a few bucks off their food price.  Now that I live 2 blocks away, I go there frequently.  I love Kickback's, you know this, but due to the aforementioned crowds, I can't go there as much as I'd like.  Depending on the weekend, there's a good chance you'll catch me at Kickback's between 3 and 6 on a Saturday or Sunday still.

When I lived closer to Five Points I went to O'Brothers often, but with Kickbacks in walking distance, that is my preferred spot. I thought O'Brothers was priced high when they first opened, but the last time I was there, it seemed more reasonable. If I had my pick of the two, it would be Kickbacks, but I like what O'Brothers has to offer.

I'll have to give O'Prices another shot sometime then. I went two or three times a couple years ago when they first opened up (end of '08/ early '09) and it was pretty horrible. Rude/slow service, mediocre food at best, and the last time I went (and subsequently refused to go back) me and a friend ordered a couple beers and burgers and our bill was $70 for 4 beers and 2 burgers! I kid you not. That tore it for me. Literally could have gone anywhere else with 10X better food at that price.

If they lowered the prices I'll have to try it again, I like sitting outside and the two outside tables at kickbacks are always hogged up so I'll give it another shot.

$70 for 4 beers and two hamburgers?  Really?  They may be a little overpriced, but let's not exaggerate.

By the way, the broccoli at Kickbacks is great!

Haha, I know, we've run into each other in Kickbacks a couple times. Last time I was in there with Stephen on trivia night having some typically (for me) obnoxious debate about something when in comes Zissou to the table next to us looking like Hugh Hefner with quite the collection of very attractive women in tow. Zissou's a cool cat. I was immediately self-aware that I was sitting behind my trivia console debating the political history of the Prussian empire or whatever. Zero to dork in 5 seconds flat, LMAO!

Looking like Hugh Hefner?  Poor fellow!  I thought he looked younger than that.

I'm not, I swear! Back then in 2009 they were getting like $7 for an import beer and the burgers were $14 apiece. Add in tax and tip and it was $70. I was $&@?#%+ flabbergasted myself. I thought I was on Boiling Points or something.
