We got a copeland's dinner a few years ago and it was sucktastic. I think the turkeys were fried somewhere way in advanced and then frozen, instructions said to put the bird back into the oven to crisp the skin back up but it was like trying to rewarm fried chicken. Thing turned out dry and bland. The sides weren't much better.

After reading an article about it in the New York Times, we ordered a smoked turkey from Greenburgs in Tyler, Texas.  It was absolutely fantastic!  Much better than the faked up "smoked" turkeys available in the local stores.
When all else fails hug the dog.

friedturkey: I'm sure you'll get another chance for your name sake around Christmas time.  Also, Terry's on Penman Road at the beach has the best homemade sausage, but I have never seen homemade jerky (excluding myself) in there.  I look closer next time and let you know.

I would Love to know who the Restaurant was that was being used as background video during a Thanksgiving broadcast on Channel 4

The chef had actually BREADED HIS FRIED TURKEY'S !! :o
Only in Jacksonville would this be bastardized into "Country Fried Turkey" ::)

I will have to check out Terry's.  Thanks!

Thanks for the warning. I've eaten at Copeland's before and wasn't super impressed so I guess that isn't a big surprise.

For Christmas I think I'm gonna brine and fry up a bunch of turkey wings. Anybody ever tried it? My dad and I nearly came to blows over the two wings at Thanksgiving. I outweigh him but he's quick...

Copelands food was about the same as Harrys at double the price!
