How are all you people in Sec 142?  I'm 142 Row T, seats 5 & 6

142, row R, seats 3 and 4.  I hope you haven't cursed me behind my back about me sitting down so Im not blocking your view at all this year  :)

No sir! I personally enjoy standing... even when watching the away games from home. My cousin (sits w/ us seats 14 & 15) got bitched at for standing at the Colts game... even though the 10 rows in front of him were standing too! If those people behind complain again I'm going to tell the to go talk to everyone in front of us because I'm not sitting down to stare at the guy in front of me's ass!

I'll look for you on Monday night.
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

Seems to be a lame-assed tactic to make sure the tickets are sold - the game WILL be televised on channel 4 after all.  They just don't have the common sense to understand that when local media makes an issue over our ticket sales, then that opens the door for the national media vultures to attack.  With the amount of tickets we have left, I'd even be surprised if we have to use an extention, but now these fu**tards have opened the door for criticism and jacksonville bashing.  Gotta love the AP wire.

Channel 4 trying to scare people into buying the remaining tickets so they don't have to.

If they ARE 2000 tix short then some one needs to make it public.  How do you suggest they get the word out?
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

BT - the word has been out.  This is not the time to draw attention to it, IMO.

Locally, when we're that close, why would you put something like that in the media, when you know that it's going to get picked up.  If it was going to be that close, then I think that the situation shouldn't be brought to the forefront until the Jags have to file for an extension.

The 2k number is from yesterday. I was told this morning it is less than 1k now. Channel 4 should be privy to this info.

I can not believe they did that. Do say the word "blackout" until its offical. If we dont have enough sold by 8:30 well just request an extention and be fine. Thats new4jax for starting the rumor wheel.

Uh Duh

You see the headline.  You read the story.  At the end, if the game is not blacked out it will be shown on TV4.  Watch TV4 not espn if you are going to the game.  That was a great post about the 1999 AFC Championship game, btw.  I have similar memories of that game and of hair brushes.

But back on topic.  I hate the Titans.  I wish Jacksond'ville would maim Jeff Fisher.  Go Jaguars!

The game will most likely not be blacked out locally for two reasons: 1. people will buy the tickets up today; OR 2. the Jaguars will purchase the remaining tickets needed to lift the blackout.  The reason why number 2 is true is because under the Everbank/ Jaguar agreement, if a game is blacked out, then the Jags owe Everbank a certain sum of money.  That sum of money is greater than or at least equal to the cost of purchasing a couple of thousand tickets to lift the blackout.

Therefore, the game will not be blacked out locally on Monday night.

Go Jags.

What is the difference between the number needed to avoid a blackout and an actual sellout?

Yes very true. Because under the agreement they take back 100,000 of the naming rights money for every game thats blacked out. Im sure 1,000 tickets does not cost 100,000 dollar. Great observation!

I wouldn't count on that, there is probably something in the agreement that says the Jags can't buy up tickets to avoid paying Everbank if a game is blacked out.
