Great pix!  These are views of the city not everybody gets to see!  Thank you!
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Good job....I can remember when it was solid ships from the Courthouse to the Matthews Bridge....
and rows of cars outside the Ford Plant.

That pic of the water in front of the stadium where's that view from? I guess the River. Never seen that view before. Great pics as usual. Thanks!!

Does anyone know the status of the public boat dock proposed for the Riverside Arts Market?

Great photos!  I love the ones with the reflection off the water.

It's taken from the river, looking directly north at Metropolitan Park and the stadium.

Couple of missing data points, but another fantastic article nonetheless.

Great job, as always!

What type of vessel is this?  Is this a trawler?  If so, is it common to see them in the vicinity of the Matthews Bridge?

looks like a shrimper to me,
not unheard of for one to come upriver

Definately looks like a shrimp boat, which there are some docked at the marina near the foot of the Matthews Bridge... there's also a boat ramp/Gate station/dry dock and general boat repair facility there as well.

Something all too uncommon unfortunately in this city today b/c of all the condo projects that tore down many marinas over the last decade.

There are an abundance of crab traps too on the eastside part of the river in that location, opposite the channel.

I had no idea the railroad bridge was that old.

I was out walking the dog with my wife on the Main St bridge last night and got to watch the bridge go up. Pretty cool to peer right over the edge. The bridge is eerily quiet when it goes up and down!

It is fun to see so many appreciate photos of views typically unseen.

Access to the water via boat grants access to a panorama.
And small craft, affordable and useable for many are key to enhanced awareness and enjoyment.
Downtown hand launch facility for smaller car top vessels would prove to be a giant plus.

Well at least it looks like we have a tower being built, even though it never changes.

Great photo tour. Now I'd like to find a boat and get on the river!
