I've noticed recently that the Jacksovnille CVB has layed out an entirely redesigned website. I have to say, its much more refreshing and easy to navigate than the old one that looked like it was designed for lets say, Jacksonville, Alabama. It also has a few videos that will pop-up in a different window. The main video is a huge compilation of was Jax has to offer, except at the end, I love how they throw a coconut palm in there, WTF?! You have to get past Melbourne before those can survive well. Anyways, great job on the new website. The video spot is at the bottom left of the page.

With a NFL team in town why would you chose to put a picture of the AA baseball team in town. I like the suns, but I would think a picture of The JACK on a monday night against indy would be a better picture.  Kinda like the T-U chosing to put a picture of the sack/fumble against the Pats in the playoff game as the picture they linked with David Garrards contract extension story, out of all the pictures they have, they put that one. Makes me wonder what people are thinking sometimes.

Well said my friend, well said.

I'd agree about your point, but this new site is FAR better than the old one.  I still haven't seen the entire thing (so I'll reserve final judgement), but overall it's a huge improvement.

I enjoy the website, the video does give a somwhat sliced and diced overview. I noticed Jax Municipal, Shoppes of Avondale, Biscotis', Dames Point Bridge, The Landing, skyline, river, Intracostal Waterway, The Beaches, MOCA, and several different things that really showcase the city in a good light. The music is quite upbeat, so you can groove in your head as you watch the video. This city has so much to draw upon its not even funny. A second motto should be " Jacksonville: Where the Ole South meets the tropics.", or something along those lines. I think 2010 to 2020 could be a stellar decade for the city, if we can get all the ducks in a row. Several are floating around, such as Bay Street Station, Shipyards, Brooklyn Park, continued SJTC expansion, extensive amounts of waterfront, as well as tons of natural forest. If we can mash all this combined with a booming arts culture, a strong industrial presence with JAXPORT, U.S. Navy, and CSX, and throw a successful commercial market in JTB/SJTC area and downtown, the shy is the limit. I can see another Super Bowl here within 8 years at current rates. We can't waste this moment, a stumbling economy means more Floridians will probably just explore the state they are in, and Jacksonville is often overlooked.

I still can't get over that damn coconut palm though.

i guess I should check out the entire site before posting, if you change the picture from day to evening and scroll though the shots, there is one for the jaguars. I never saw the old jacksonville site but this is pretty cool over all
